In this context my intention was to convey that we don't treat them or approach them as Gods the way that mainstream religion or neopaganism approaches deities. We don't worship the Good People the same way that people who engage in ancestor veneration don't worship their ancestors. However, if you do not consider these beings to be deities rather just very powerful people who are to be treated with respect and caution, it seems to be just a way of maintaining good relations...i.e. being a good neighbor yourself.Belenor Avalonushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00550049730226359502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111542293355322668.post-62310026744011106872019-05-18T11:56:42.006-04:002019-05-18T11:56:42.006-04:00I'm curious as to how you define worship, beca...I'm curious as to how you define worship, because you said that we don't "worship" the Good Neighbors, but then went on to describe everything that I understand as defining worship: offering, propitiating, respecting, fearing, appeasing, establishing cycles of reciprocation, etc.<br /><br />The word "worship" in English comes from a root meaning "to assign worth,&MatttyGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12064581066890771399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1111542293355322668.post-61292845894960669232019-05-16T18:54:09.739-04:002019-05-16T18:54:09.739-04:00yup. Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"<br /><br />A quote from one of my favorite BrigidsBlesthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02532804160519657647noreply@blogger.com
